Oil and Gas Draft Environmental Impact Statement - The Draft EIS identifies Dixie National Forest lands that could be made available for oil and gas leasing in accordance with the Mineral Leasing Act and is now releasing for public comment the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).

Recreation Facility Analysis - The Dixie National Forest was a regional pilot forest for the Recreational Facility Analysis Project. Our analysis was approved in 2006 by Regional Forester Jack Troyer.

Healthy Forest Initiative

President Bush announced the Healthy Forests Initiative in August, directing the Departments of Agriculture and the Interior and the Council on Environmental Quality to develop administrative and legislative measures that will help reduce the threat of catastrophic wildfire to America’s forests and rangelands.

Forest Plan Monitoring Report

The purpose of this summary is to provide forest managers and the public with a brief look at the monitoring accomplished during the fiscal as part of implementing the Dixie National Forest Land and Resource Management Plan (forest plan).

PLEASE NOTE: The Dixie NF does not maintain a forest wide project mailing list. Analysis teams for each project develop contact lists of interested or affected individuals or agencies as appropriate.

We have a Forest Mailing List for persons to receive either this Schedule of Proposed Actions (SOPA) by mail or an email notification when it is posted on the Dixie Web site.

If you would like to be involved in the development and analysis of a specific project, or assist with implementation, please contact the Project Contact listed for that project. By contacting either the district office or the person listed in the SOPA, you will be added to the project contact list to receive project information or notices for public comments. Your participation will be welcomed.
