STATEMENT BY COMMERCE SECRETARY DON EVANS ON THE SENATE’S PASSAGE OF CONGRESSIONAL BUDGET RESOLUTION

“Under the new Republican leadership, the Senate deserves credit this year for upholding its duty to pass a budget resolution. However, the Senate’s budget does not yet fully reflect the President’s pro-growth plan. Because President Bush is firmly committed to an aggressive job creation agenda, the administration will work closely with Members of the Congress during House-Senate budget negotiations to fully explain how his plan, in its entirety, will expand opportunities for every American worker.”
