U.S. COMMERCE SECRETARY TO ASSESS ECONOMY, AUTO INDUSTRY DURING VISIT TO MOTOR CITY
Dept. to Announce New Economic Data for Third Quarter

U.S. Secretary of Commerce Don Evans will meet with automotive suppliers to discuss the state of the American economy and of the automotive industry during a visit to Detroit on Thursday, October 31, 2002.

Also on Thursday, the Commerce Department will release Gross Domestic Product growth statistics for the third quarter.

Evans will hold a media availability following the meeting.
