Demand is strong for dairy and grinding alfalfa, moderate for alfalfa pellets, prairie hay and stock cow quality hay. This week has brought sunshine, warmer temperatures and breezy weather keeping, hay producers, corn harvesters, and wheat planters busy. If it holds for a week the prairie hay harvest will be nearly finished. A lot of high moisture corn is being picked, and silage cutters are running full bore. Wheat planting is underway especially for those wanting Fall pasture. Army worms are showing up and should be watched especially in new seedlings.
