Adams County 4-H Members Council

PURPOSE: To provide leadership, decision-making and program development experience for the 4-H youth of Adams County. This group may assume or initiate expanded and/or new programs. To design and implement programs and activities based on the interests of the majority of Adams County 4-H youth. To assist as a vital communication link between the youth and each local club and county committee, and the Extension

WHO: All registered 4-H members are encouraged to attend County 4-H Members' Council meetings, participate in programs and serve on committees. The voting delegates of the Council shall be two representatives for each 15 members of each local 4-H club, chosen by the club membership with a maximum of four members per club: one to fifteen members, 2 representatives; sixteen to thirty members, 3 representatives; thirty one or more members, 4 representatives. WHERE: Adams County Regional Park.

Fund Raising (Adams County 4-H Programs Committee)

PURPOSE: To coordinate the raising of funds to support 4-H programs, which cannot be funded by tax moneys. The 4-H programs will be funded by this committee to the extent that funds are available with priorities established and published by the committee.

WHO: All 4-H leaders, parents and members are members of this committee. Officers (President, Secretary and Treasurer) are selected at the annual meeting, the first Tuesday in September prior to the monthly meeting. Vice President is a County Council representative.

WHEN: Committee meets most months. Watch the Newsletter for time, date.

WHERE: At Adams County Regional Park unless otherwise indicated.

4-H Foundation

PURPOSE: To assist the further development and participation in Adams County 4-H and help provide funds for educational purposes and activities. Provide scholarships to recognize and reward outstanding leadership in Adams County 4-H

WHO: Persons admitted to membership by a majority vote of the Board of Trustees

WHEN: Annual meeting during the last quarter of the year. Quarterly meetings of Board of Trustees.

WHERE: TBA

Consumer & Family Living

PURPOSE: Coordinate and execute educational activities for youth and adults in the 4-H Consumer & Family Living program. Clothing and Textiles, foods and Nutrition, Knitting, Crochet, Home Environment, Quilting, Needle Craft and Child Care are the projects included in the Consumer & Family Living division.

WHO: All 4-H members, leaders, and parents interested in Consumer & Family Living projects

WHEN & WHERE: Meetings are as needed. Watch the Newsletter for meeting time, date and place

General Division

PURPOSE: Coordinate, direct and provide to 4-H members, leaders and families, learning experiences in all areas of the 4-H General Division. Areas included in the General Division are Mechanical Science; Ecology and Natural Resources; Leadership; Leisure Education and Cultural Arts; Cultural Understanding and Exchanges, Communication Arts and Science and Plant Science.

WHO: All members, leaders and parents interested in the 4-H General Division project areas.

WHEN: Meetings are held as needed. Watch the Newsletter calendar for times and dates.

Horse

PURPOSE: To plan, coordinate and execute educational programs and activities for youth and adults in Equine Sciences

WHO: All 4-H members, leaders, and parents interested in the 4-H Horse project area.

WHEN/WHERE: Watch Newsletter for date, time and place.

Livestock

PURPOSE: Plan, coordinate and execute educational activities and workshops for youth and adults in the 4-H livestock programs. These include Beef, Dairy Cattle, Goats, Horse, Sheep and Swine. The Catch-A-Calf program at National Western Stock Show is a program of interest for livestock participants.

Small Animals

PURPOSE: To plan, coordinate and execute educational programs and activities for youth and adults in 4-H Small animals. These include Cats, Dogs, Pocket Pets, Poultry and Rabbits.

WHO: All 4-H members, leaders and parents interested in the 4-H Small Animals project areas.

WHEN\WHERE: 4th Tuesday of the odd numbered months - Watch Newsletter for date, time and place.
