Dixie National Forest > Passes and Permits Passes & PermitsMost national forest system lands are open, free of charge for your use and enjoyment. Entrance and user fees may be charged at some areas. ENTRANCE FEES are required for entering designated federal recreation areas such as National Parks and National Monuments. Entrance fees can be paid each time you visit a forest or grassland, or you can use a special pass, such as the America the Beautiful - National Parks and Federal Lands Recreation Pass.

It's getting colder and many people are thinking about Christmas Trees. Christmas tree permits are normally available for sale from early November through December. A permit is required to cut Christmas trees on the Dixie National Forest. Permits must be acquired in person as each permit requires an original signature. Permits may not be purchased on-line or by mail. Cutting Christmas trees can be a fun family experience if done safely. Be sure to check with the District Office nearest to the location you plan to harvest your tree. They can tell you the latest road and weather conditions. America the Beautiful - National Parks and Federal Lands Recreation PassThis pass covers entrance fees or standard amenity fees at sites managed by USDA Forest Service, National Park Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management and Bureau of Reclamation. It cannot be used at any state or county park or facility.
If you plan to use a specialized facility (camping, parking, boat launch, ramps, swimming site, etc.) in the forest, you may have to pay a USER FEE. Please contact us for information on fees, passes or permits necessary for use of recreation areas on the Dixie National Forest. Federal Interagency Senior and Access Pass Information (printable pdf document) - These passes are issued to United States citizens or permanent residents only. Senior passes are for persons over 62 years old. Access passes are for persons that have a permanent disability. These passes must be purchased at one of the Dixie National Forest Offices Contact the Forest Service office where the desired use would occur and request an application. Application information is also available on the special uses home page at http:// www.fs.fed.us/recreation/permits Personal Use Wood Sales - The National Forest Service sells wood products for personal and commercial use. This includes timber, posts, poles and firewood. Forest Service Passes and Permits - This link will take you to the Forest Service Passes and Permits web page which provides detailed information on the recreation passes and permits. Christmas Tree Permits - All Districts of the Dixie National Forest allow Christmas Tree cutting. Christmas Tree permits go on sale in November. The cost for a permit is $10.00 for trees under 10 feet in height and $20.00 for trees 10 to 20 feet in height. Five permits per household limit. |
