Since our chapter encompasses a large geographical area, we have two regional Groups in outlying areas for promoting friendship, outings, and conservation issues in their respective areas. Click the Group of your choice in the menu on the left.
Similar to automatically joining the local Chapter, Sierra Club members automatically join the Group representing their area. As a member, you are assigned a Group by the Club according to your mailing address.
Club members may request membership in any one Group if not assigned automatically by the Club. This may be necessary when a PO Box mailing address is outside the Group boundary but a residence is inside the Group boundary.
Groups are officially sanctioned by the Club. Each Group must publish newsletters free of charge to their members at least quarterly, elect board members, and have bylaws they follow. Each Group also has one member functioning as a voting member of the Chapter Executive Committee.
