The Alabama Council for Developmental Disabilities is dedicated to improving the lives of those with developmental disabilities through advocacy, capacity building and systems change.

The Council membership is uniquely composed of individuals with developmental disabilities, parents and family members of people with developmental disabilities, and representatives of State and local agencies as well as advocacy and support organizations. Council members serve as advocates s for Alabama citizens to provide comprehensive community services, individual support and additional forms of assistance, ACDD works hard to insure full access to all these services enabling individuals with developmental disabilities to exercise self determination, independence, productivity, integration and inclusion in all facets of community life.
