Proposals sought by Lab for research with UNM

By Kaiti Sul Hwa Ferguson

April 4, 2006

Deadline is April 13

The Laboratory and the University of New Mexico are accepting proposals for research in the areas of bioscience, materials, quantum information science and computer science, distributed sensor networks (including, but not limited to, chemical/biological detection), and nuclear futures (including nuclear applications) under the sponsorship of a Joint Science and Technology Laboratory.

The Laboratory and UNM signed a memorandum of understanding in 2003 to increase interaction between the two institutions. In particular, the MOU provides opportunities for research, education, recruiting and retention.

The proposal submission deadline is April 13. All completed proposals must be sent electronically to the Science and Technology Base Programs - University Coordination (STB-UC) Office at stbuc-admin@lanl.gov by electronic mail.

An electronic copy may be requested from the STB-UC office at 7-7824 or stbuc-admin@lanl.gov by electronic mail.

A Joint Science and Technology Laboratory management committee will review the proposals and make recommendations to an executive committee. Principal investigators whose proposals are selected for funding will be notified by May 5.
