Stamp dedication recognizes Los Alamos Manhattan Era scientists

June 13, 2005

Feynman lives!

Robert Valentine, of Murray State University in Kentucky, impersonated Manhattan Era physicist Richard Feynman at a stamp dedication last Friday outside the Los Alamos Post Office. David Ojeda, acting postmaster, Laboratory Fellow Louis Rosen, an unidentified postal employee, and Alan Morris, a teacher at Wylie High School in Texas, watch with interest as Valentine brought Feynman back to life. The dedication centered on the accomplishments of Feynman and John von Neumann and featured stories about their lives and how they both influenced the Lab and the world of science and mathematics. Rosen spoke briefly about Feynman and von Neumann.
