Individual retirement counseling sessions full

May 19, 2005

Individual retirement counseling sessions scheduled for June 7, 8 and 9 are full, according to Benefits and Employment Services (HR-B).

Laboratory employees who missed out on signing up can still put their names on an interest list by calling HR-B at 7-1806 or by writing to benefits@lanl.gov by electronic mail. Those whose names are on the list will be contacted if additional sessions can be arranged or if someone cancels an already scheduled appointment.

Human Resources (HR) Division announced the sessions in an all-employee memo on Tuesday. The counseling sessions are for Laboratory employees who are older than 50 with more than five years’ service credit. Visiting retirement counselors from other University of California campuses and facilities are helping to augment existing HR-B staffing levels to accommodate as many employees as possible.

"We are fortunate that UC has offered to share its knowledgeable benefits professionals during this busy time,” said Ellen Fox, HR-B group leader. “This will be an opportunity for UC employees considering retirement to learn more about the retirement options available to them.”
