Laboratory Director G. Peter Nanos this week reminded Laboratory workers about the Lab's harassment policy (AM 711).
In the memo, Nanos noted that harassment is in conflict with the Lab's guiding principles of workplace conduct in the Code of Ethics. The memo describes different forms of harassment and Nanos reiterates that harassment won't be tolerated and will be addressed quickly and appropriately.
"Harassment continues to be a problem in today's workplace across the country and includes actions ranging from overt behaviors to creating a hostile work environment," said Nanos. "Federal and state laws as well as Laboratory policy (AM 711) prohibit harassment. Harassing behaviors will be dealt with appropriately, with disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment. We all have the right to work in an environment that is free of harassment."
