Rosendorf is new Communications & Government Affairs Division leader

October 14, 2008

Lisa Franklin Rosendorf joins the Laboratory today as leader of the Communications & Government Affairs (CGA) Division. David McCumber, current CGA Division leader, recently expressed his desire to return to the practice of law and will be reassigned to Laboratory Counsel (LC) effective today.

“In his five years at the Laboratory, David and his team have tackled a large number of complex, highly visible issues under very difficult circumstances, from safety and security to the transition to management of the Lab by Los Alamos National Security, LLC. I want to thank David for his innovative approaches to communications management,” Laboratory Director Michael Anastasio said.

Rosendorf, who is deeply experienced in strategic communication, media relations, community relations, crisis communications, and government affairs, joins the Laboratory after four years with the accounting firm Ernst & Young in New York City. There, she was associate director for public relations in the Americas. Among her responsibilities, Rosendorf led the firm’s public relations strategy to raise the visibility of Ernst & Young’s industry expertise in 13 priority sectors.

Previously, for more than eight years, Rosendorf served in a variety of public affairs positions for the independent power subsidiary of PG&E Corporation, one of the nation’s largest publicly held utility companies, first in Bethesda, Maryland, and later—as director of public affairs and community relations—in Boston.

Before that, she worked for E. Bruce Harrison Company, a Washington, D.C.-based public relations and public policy communications firm. As an account executive, Rosendorf managed government affairs and media relations issues on behalf of such clients as AT&T, Edison Electric Institute, and the American Petroleum Institute.

Rosendorf grew up in Albuquerque, and her early professional experiences included work for elected officials at the state and federal levels. Rosendorf earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. She is accredited by the Public Relations Society of America.
