Proposal writing workshop set for February 20
Applications for education outreach grants are being accepted by the Los Alamos National Laboratory Foundation. The non-profit foundation plans to award some $600,000 in education outreach grants for a variety of programs in Northern New Mexico.
Grants are used to support an organization's core mission and range from $5,000 to $15,000, according to a news release from the foundation.
The Foundation will support organizations addressing critical public education needs in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), including STEM activities in the areas of teacher/curriculum enhancement, educational technology, and student support.
Organizations interested in applying for a grant for education outreach must submit a full application portfolio, including a proposal summary report, narrative (not to exceed three pages), and supporting documents by March 28. Application forms are available on the foundation's Web page.
To assist organizations planning to apply for a grant, the foundation is hosting a workshop February 20 at Northern New Mexico College's El Rito campus. The workshop is free to all participants, and breakfast and lunch will be provided. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis, and limited to 100 participants. The Laboratory Foundation is a philanthropic grant-giving entity for the Lab created in 1997. It supports a range of regional and community not-for-profit organizations.
