Dissolved Oxygen in Puget Sound

Fish need oxygen like humans do. Where dissolved oxygen levels are low, fish and other marine life become stressed and die or are forced to flee their habitat. Ecology is working on a number of projects related to Puget Sound and nutrients.

The South Puget Sound Dissolved Oxygen Study started collecting data in 2006. It focuses on the southern part of Puget Sound.
The Sound-Wide Dissolved Oxygen Model is a new project that extends the work on the South Sound to the rest of Puget Sound.
The Technical and Economic Evaluation of Nutrient Removal Technologies is a new project focused on nutrient removal at wastewater treatment plants.
