Seed quality and conditioning workshops offered at the Iowa State University Seed Science Center

Iowa State University's Seed Science Center is offering a series of workshops on seed quality evaluation and seed conditioning. The advanced workshops include training required to meet continuing education requirements for the 2006 Iowa Commercial Pesticide Applicator certification for Category 4. Participants will learn about various aspects of seed conditioning and receive "hands-on" training. Enrollment is limited. Category 4 Seed Treatment Fee: $105

This workshop is intended for commercial seed plant personnel requiring more detailed coverage of current seed treatment products and application equipment. Equipment presentations will include powder, slurry, and film coating technology; continuous and automatic batch treating machinery; equipment calibration; and quality control procedures.

Advanced Research Seed Corn Conditioning

Thursday and Friday, August 3 and 4, 2006

Category 4, Seed Treatment Fee: $175

This workshop is intended for seed plant personnel who need more detailed coverage of current seed treatment products and application equipment. Equipment presentations will include powder, slurry, and film coating technology; continuous and batch treating machinery; equipment calibration; and quality control procedures. Typical small scale research seed treating hardware will be available for demonstration and "hands-on" training.

The workshops will be held in the Seed Science Center at Iowa State University. Parking is available nearby. You'll receive a map and parking permit with your registration confirmation. Enrollment is limited in workshops. Registration will be accepted on a first-come, fees-paid basis.
