S. Peter Gary: Who are the Laboratory Fellows?

Kurt Steinhaus

The Laboratory Fellows organization was established in 1981 and consists of technical staff who have been appointed by the director. I congratulate Robert Albers, Paul A. Johnson, and Kurt Sickafus on their recent selection as Fellows of Los Alamos National Laboratory. This high honor has been bestowed upon these gentlemen in recognition of their sustained, outstanding contributions to the Laboratory and their exceptional promise for continued professional achievement. Their new status as Fellows carries not only recognition but responsibility. The Fellows often are asked to advise management on technical issues of importance to the Laboratory. They also are responsible for the annual selection of winners of the Fellows' Prizes for Outstanding Research and Outstanding Leadership in Science or Engineering.
