Marketing Farm Products

NOFA-VT provides assistance to farmers and farmers’ market managers on the direct marketing farm products. NOFA-VT aims to enhance direct marketing opportunities for farmers, to build direct connections between farmers and local consumers, and to maintain the viability of rural communities through farm-based economic development.

Annual Direct Marketing Conference

NOFA-VT holds an annual Direct Marketing Conference to provide a networking and educational opportunity for farmers’ market managers and vendors and farmers marketing through Community Supported Agriculture and farm stands.

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)

NOFA-VT offers technical workshop on CSA management; case studies on various CSA models; and offers CSA growers an opportunity to have a direct impact on the food security of low-income families and seniors through the Farm Share and Senior Farm Share programs. We also work to promote CSAs with consumers state-wide and maintain an online CSA directory.

Farm to Cafeteria

Farm to Cafeteria is the umbrella for several local food purchasing and education programs which reconnect people to their local food producers by bringing local food into hospitals, workplace cafeterias, and other institutional settings, as well as, school and college cafeterias.

Vermont Farmers’ Markets

NOFA-VT has been instrumental in the creation of the statewide Vermont Farmers’ Market Association; acted as a technical resource for farmers’ market management information; developed the capacity for farmers’ markets to accept food stamps; and promoted farmers’ markets statewide.
