Research Interests

Dr. Merritt's involvement with KBS during the last few years has been with coteaching a summer course with Dr. Mike Kaufman on "Biomonitoring of Streams and Rivers." I also serve on KBS grad student committees on occasion. My research interests are in aquatic entomology and stream ecology and some research on invertebrate functional feeding groups is still ongoing in streams associated with the station.
