AAV Vectors for Clinical Gene Therapy Special Issue

Despite slow progress, the theory of gene therapy remains sound. Encouraging results have been reported for adeno-associated virus vectors (rAAV) in tissue culture and mouse models. Experiences outlined in this special issue, however, show positive clinical studies as well. The issue surveys production, application, and immunological outcomes of rAAV.

Cellular Vehicles for Gene Therapy Special Issue

The ability of cells to synthesize, protect, and deliver complex therapeutics has gained renewed interest and represents a rapidly emerging subfield within gene therapy. This special issue focuses on cell types, therapeutic payloads, and diseases amenable to the cell vehicle approach. It also looks at strategies to regulate the specificity of delivery.

Stem Cells Special Issue

Stem cell research is booming and much progress has been made within the last few years. The special issue focuses on the fundamental, underappreciated aspects of current stem cell research that have not yet been emphasized within the field. Reviews cover current research with the translational potential for stem cell drug development.
