Drinking Water Unit Mission Statement
Our mission is:
To protect public health of Northwest communities by working with states, municipal water suppliers, tribes, and others to ensure that all public water systems provide safe drinking water.
We will:
Build state, tribal and local capacity for strong, comprehensive drinking water protection that effectively addresses the goals and concerns of public water systems;
Coordinate and implement EPA programs to ensure consistency with SDWA goals and state drinking water programs;
Provide technical, programmatic, and financial assistance to state, tribal and local authorities for drinking water programs; and
Practice and encourage personal stewardship by building citizen's awareness and understanding of the value and vulnerability of drinking water.
