Wildflower Center Closed

The Wildflower Center will be closed January 19, in honor of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. The center will reopen at 9 a.m., Tuesday, January 20.

Hours of Operation

Tuesday-Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Sunday, noon to 5:30 p.m.
Open every day in April, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Visitors Gallery, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday noon to 4 p.m.
Store, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Sunday, noon to 4 p.m.
Cafe, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, noon to 4 p.m.

Closed Mondays and New Year's Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Directions from downtown Austin

  1. Head west on Sixth Street.
  2. Enter the entrance ramp for Loop 1 South (Loop 1 is also known as MOPAC Expressway).
  3. Continue south past the traffic light at Slaughter Lane.
  4. Turn left at the next traffic light at La Crosse Avenue.
  5. The Center is on the right near the end of La Crosse.

Shirts and shoes required - closed-toe walking shoes recommended for trails and paths. Don't forget your outdoor protection: sunscreen, hats, non-glass water bottles, insect repellant.

The Center's grounds and buildings are wheelchair accessible excluding the Observation Tower and parts of the nature trails.

Wildflower Cafe. Refreshments, snacks and lunch available for purchase - generally open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hours may vary. Click here to view the Cafe Menu online.

The Wildflower Center has two picnic areas available on a first come, first serve basis for general visitors. Alcoholic beverages and fires are not permitted.

In case of emergency, first aid is available in the Administration Building.

Photography Policy

Amateurs photography is welcome at the Wildflower Center. Professional photographers may take photographs, but are required to schedule a time in advance and pay a fee. Please respect the boundaries of the planted areas and contact facility rentals to learn more.
