Directory of Licensed Auctioneers and Apprentice Auctioneers

Foreward

Gus R. Douglass
Commissioner of Agriculture

Welcome to the latest addition of our Directory of Licensed Auctioneer and Apprentice Auctioneers. We hope you find this guide to be both informative and a valuable resource whether you are a practicing auctioneer, apprentice auctioneer or someone aspiring to join the auctioneering profession.

You will find the rules and regulations governing auctioneers, a list of reciprocal states and approved auctioneering schools as well as a directory of all licensed auctioneers and apprentice auctioneers as of July 2006. We have added a new page of contact information to the directory which we hope you will find useful.

While we cannot print a new directory each month, technology provides the opportunity to update information on our website, www.wvagriculture.org, on a regular basis. I encourage you to check this website frequently to learn what's happening in the way of continuing education seminars, examination schedules, etc. You will also find the names, license numbers and other pertinent information on newly licensed auctioneers.

The auctioneering profession is a viable business in West Virginia and we take tremendous pride in the responsibility bestowed on us by our Legislature to administer this program for the citizens of this wonderful state. The Department of Agriculture strives to meet your needs and expectations just as you strive to meet those of your clients. As with all service providers the quality of service and expertise are major components in the success or failure of your business. I urge you to take advantage of every opportunity to increase your knowledge, professionalism and to stay apprised of the newest trends in the auctioneering field. The successful auctioneer is the one who takes change in stride and welcomes the challenges of this competitive business.
I encourage you to check our website whenever you need a quick reference. If you cannot find what you are looking for or need additional information please do not hesitate to contact my office at 304/558-3550. My staff and I stand ready to assist you and welcome the opportunity to serve you..
