EPA, Region 10, in partnership with the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality ![]() ![]() ![]() The federal regulations which govern the permitting process include: The Solid Waste Disposal Act ![]() ![]() ![]() Oregon, Washington and Idaho are authorized to administer parts of the RCRA program in their respective states. To receive authorization, state requirements must be as strict, or stricter, than the federal requirements. Alaska is not currently authorized. EPA Region 10 is responsible for issuance of permits for treatment, storage and disposal of Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs) and RCRA permits on Tribal lands because none of the four states in Region 10 are authorized to administer these programs.
