UW Students: Exploring the Geological History of Washington (General Studies 391H)
This 3 credit course is designed to help undergraduates acquire effective teaching skills through informal education within the exhibits at the Burke Museum for a new public program, Burke 101. The Burke's mineralogical collection is one of the finest on the Pacific Coast. The collection contains specimens of every major chemical group, and is particularly rich in silicates, carbonates, halides, and sulfides. A portion of the collection is on display in the Burke Museum galleries.
