Living History Exhibits

There are several exhibits that depict 1800s Harpers Ferry. Stop by the Provost Marshal's Office to get your pass signed or visit the Dry Goods Store to see how much candy cost in 1859.

Self-Guided Activities

In addition to the Junior Ranger Activity Booklet, a local Boy Scout developed the Harpers Ferry Heritage Trail. The trail combines hiking with a history search of Harpers Ferry. This booklet is available for purchase at the Harpers Ferry Historical Assocation Bookshop.



Today the John Brown Fort is across the street from its original location.  

Did You Know?
John Brown's Fort has been moved 4 times: in 1891 to Chicago to the World's Columbian Exposition, in 1895 to the Murphy Farm near Harpers Ferry, in 1909 to Storer College Campus and in 1968 to its present location.
