What is a Mitten Crab?
Mitten crabs are native in the coastal estuaries of eastern Asia from Korea in the north to the Fujian province of China in the south. They are named for the dense patches of hair on the claws of adults and large individuals. They pose ecological, economic, and human health threats and affect biological communities through predation and competition.
