Hydrilla and Hygrophila - the "Terrible Twosome"

Welcome to the Osceola County Hydrilla and Hygrophila Demonstration Project Website. This site is intended to provide information on the biology of Hydrilla verticillata (hydrilla) and Hygrophila polysperma (hygrophila), invasive species management strategies, new research and technologies under development, and virtual tours of demonstration sites.

The goal of the website is to provide a visual and interactive portal for the latest, most up to date management strategies for hydrilla and hygrophila, a.k.a. the “Terrible Twosome”. The site will also be used to communicate with the residents of Osceola County and other interested groups about aquatic plant management activities that are occurring throughout the county.

You can be involved! Please feel free to contact us to have specific questions answered or to voice your opinion on aquatic plant management.

The site will be updated on a continual basis so tracking the progress of the project will be very easy! Whether you’re checking in to see the latest news from our researchers in Africa or if you have a question about our most recent airboat trip to check the status of a trial, this is the site to visit!

Please feel free to contact us anytime!
