Animal health conditions for intra-Community trade in and imports of semen, ova and embryos into the Community have been harmonized. This has been carried out in order to guarantee the absence of specific pathogens that might be conveyed by semen, ova and embryos and to avoid contamination of female recipients and their offspring.
