What is "Identity Preserved"
The Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) offers the identity preserved certification program to assist in marketing and selling value added agricultural products though official third party verification of the practices and activities that provide customers confidence in the reliability and consistency of the value-added products.

In short summary:
  • The "identity" is the product claim of value-added traits or process that are unique and valued in the marketplace.
  • The "preserved" is the good managment practices and activities that provide confidence that the "identity" has been established and maintained from production to delivery.
  • ODA identity preserved certification is official third party verification of the management practices and activities that preserve the value-added traits. The verification includes a review of the identity preserved manual, audit of practices, and a check of the tracking system.

ODA identity preserved certification provides customers with:
  1. A platform to make an officially verified product or process claim.
  2. A documented and transparent verification process.
  3. Official documents supporting your claim.
  4. Increased customer confidence.

  • Policies and procedures to mitigate the identified risks and documented in the IP manual.
  • Implementation of IP policies and procedures.
  • Identify and maintain records of procedures and activities.
  • Review and audits of procedures, activities, and records.
  • Corrective action as necessary.
  • Traceback systems and product status check.
