Please note: These sample policies, procedures, work plans, publications, and tools have been collected from a wide variety of sources to stimulate conversation at the district board and administrative level. For this reason, no district could or should adopt these tools verbatim.
Some districts will adopt wording similar to what is contained in these examples and some districts will adopt only the spirit of the policy. No district will adopt every policy or procedure described here, although some will find examples that are very easy to “fit” to their specific needs. These tools are intended to facilitate policy development, procedure writing and planning by districts by providing suggestions for language, topics and formats.
Each tool is identified by source and provided without recommendation regarding content. All tools are printed with permission. Districts have shared their work in the spirit of statewide collaboration.
