Goal Measurement
You will find goal measurement tools and information about the new
per capita disposal and goal measurement system for 2007 and later
(Chapter 343, Statutes of 2008 [Wiggins, SB 1016]). The new per
capita disposal and goal measurement system moves the emphasis from
an estimated diversion measurement number to using an actual
disposal measurement number as a factor, along with evaluating
program implementation efforts.

Knowing the amounts and types of waste still disposed is critical in determining

Each year,
jurisdictions must measure and report to the Board their progress in meeting the goals of
the Integrated Waste Management Act. Here you will find information and models you can use

Local Assistance
The local assistance staff helps local
governments meet their planning and diversion mandates of the Integrated
Waste Management Act of 1989. local
assistance staff serves as a
liaison between local governments and the Board and its program areas,
providing input for the development of Board policies concerning local
planning and implementation issues.
Local Government Library: The Board's local government reference library assists California jurisdictions with Integrated Waste Management Act compliance. There are links to Board policies, publications (including assistance documents and newsletters) as well as to sample/model documents (policies, ordinances, etc.) submitted to the Board by local jurisdictions to share information.
