Weed Seed Free Forage Program Counties in North Dakota participating in the Weed Seed Free Forage Program may inspect and certify forage before it is harvested, along with inspecting gravel, scoria, or sand surface mining operations, to verify that there are no propagative plant parts of noxious weeds present. The goal is to reduce the spread of North American Weed Management Association (NAWMA) and North Dakota State and County listed noxious weeds on federal, state and other lands where forage, gravel, scoria, or sand is used. Public lands in North Dakota as well as other Western states, have requirements for the use of forage and other products, which are inspected and certified to be free of designated weeds and invasive plants. North Dakota State Parks and National Parks, as well as lands of U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, Military Reservations, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife lands all require the use of certified weed seed free forage. The program helps prevent the introduction and spread of noxious and invasive weeds through forage used by horse riders and other recreational land users. 2008 ND Weed Seed Forage Inspection and Certification Procedures 2008 Detailed Inspector Procedures 2008 General Objectives Procedures 2008 Gravel Pit Inspection Minimum Standards North American Weed Management Association (NAWMA) North American Noxious Weed List + North Dakota Noxious Weeds Weed Seed Free Certification Request to Inspect Form Example of a Certification Tag |
