There are many delightful settings to choose from, including the Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden, with its magical mirrorlike waterscapes, cloud-pruned maples, and waterfalls; the Cranford Rose Garden, where tens of thousands of fragrant roses bloom in summertime; and the Osborne Garden, with its classical architecture, cascading fountain, and stately procession of crabapple trees and azaleas. Wedding Ceremony Guidelines
PLEASE NOTE: These guidelines are for ceremonies only (not full-catered affairs). If you are interested in a full wedding package—including a seated ceremony—contact the Palm House for more information.
- Bookings are accepted on a first-come first-served basis. Spring and summer are very popular seasons, so plan early.
- Only one ceremony is permitted on Saturday and one on Sunday at 9 a.m. Ceremony must be completed by 10 a.m., when the grounds open to the public. No exceptions.
- Fee: $350 for up to 50 people. Fee is cash only and is nonrefundable. Ceremony is held rain or shine. No indoor facility available.
- Choice of Rose Garden, Osborne Garden, or Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden.
- Ceremonies are all stand-up. No chairs, tables, decorations, balloons, rice, or birdseed. No food is allowed.
- Soft, small, hand-held music is acceptable.
- Small, hand-held, portable chupahs are allowed.

- If you are interested, the Garden's stunning and historic conservatory, the Palm House, is available for private, indoor, catered marriage ceremonies and receptions. Minimum of 100 people. Call the Palm House at 718-398-2400 for more information.
Wedding Photography Guidelines
- Bookings are accepted on a first-come first-served basis. It is suggested that bride and groom bring their permit and come to the Garden a week or two before the photos to see what's blooming and to select their photo location.
- Fee: $250 for up to 20 people. (The fee is cash only and is non-refundable.)
- Sessions must be scheduled within the following hours:
April - September, 10 am to 4:30 pm
October - March, 10 am to 3:00 pm
- Each session is 45 minutes; a security guard escort is provided to enforce the time limit and to ensure the session is not disrupted.
- Wedding party must come at its assigned time. It is suggested that the party arrive 10 to 15 minutes before scheduled time so as not to waste any of the session time getting ready.
- No indoor photos allowed.
- If rained out, a rain date will be given. Rain date is good for one calendar year from the date on your permit.
- No food is allowed.

- April: Magnolias, daffodils, forsythias, flowering cherries, crabapples, Native Flora and Japanese Hill-and-Pond Gardens.
- May: Lilacs, tulips, bluebells, wisterias, Shakespeare Garden, Rock Garden, dogwoods, azaleas in the Osborne Garden.
- June: Cranford Rose Garden, Perennial Borders, Annual Border, Herb Garden, irises, peonies.
- October/November: Mixed Perennial Border, Monocot Border, Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden, and fall foliage.
- December/January: Holiday Flower Show, camellias, and aloes in the Conservatory; hollies, winter jasmines, hellebores, pussy willows, Chinese witch hazels.
- February/March: Oleander, weeping bottlebrush, and exotic bulb display in the Conservatory, Chinese witch-hazel, early bulbs in Rock Garden, Japanese flowering apricot, Cornelian cherry, forsythias, magnolias, crocus, and daffodils.
