Colby-Sawyer College is a terrific place. Whether you already know this because you are here – or suspect it to be and are thinking about attending, the Academic Dean's office is a ready resource for you. Students may wish to meet with me about anything, although I primarily handle academically oriented issues; this may include:

  • Academic advising
  • Academic events and ceremonies
  • Academic honors and awards
  • Academic standards and policies
  • Curriculum inquiries
  • Anything occurring or suggestions regarding academic support services, such as:
    • Registrar's Office
    • Academic Development Center
    • Career Development Center

Students may have other concerns that can be brought to me. These include exceptions to academic policies and policies that define satisfactory academic progress. We try to make sure that the rules and regulations are fair and reasonable, but sometimes they don't fit the circumstances. If a student thinks he or she has good reason to ask for an exception to a policy, I will be glad to consider it.

Academic honesty is a cornerstone of any truly meaningful education and is a central part of the college's Code of Community Responsibility. Colby-Sawyer's academic honesty policy can be found on page 6 of the Student Handbook.

Students who wish to pursue a double major must meet with me and obtain my approval for their plans. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. My assistant, Ruth Clark, and I will be glad to answer your questions or direct you to someone who knows the answer.
