Small herbaceous wildflower.
Dimensions:
About 6-12 inches in height. Taller than broad.
Growth Rate:
Moderate.
Range:
Endemic to Florida from Palm Beach and Collier counties north to Duval County and the Florida Panhandle.
Habitats:
Pinelands.
Soils:
Moist, well-drained sandy soils, without humus.
Nutritional Requirements:
Low; it grows in nutrient poor soils.
Salt Water Tolerance:
Low; does not tolerate flooding by salt or brackish water.
Salt Wind Tolerance:
Low; salt wind may burn the leaves.
Drought Tolerance:
Moderate; generally requires moist soils, but tolerant of short periods of drought once established.

Full sun.
Flower Color:
Blue.
