*** Forecast Note - 3 November: The season summary for the 2008 disease season is now available. It is available here or via the additional link below. We would like to thank everyone for their support and cooperation during this year's epidemic.

*** Forecast Note - 15 September: The Forecast Center is still accepting disease reports for 2008. In our end-of-forecasting notice seen below, we may have inadvertantly implied that all activities for 2008 were coming to an end. This is not so; our only intention was to let our users know that the forecasts would be coming to a close at the end of August. As in past years, any disease reports are welcome as long as there is host in the field. The Epidemic Status maps will be updated accordingly. We apologize if we created any misunderstanding or confusion. ***

Forecasts in 2008 will be generated on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday each week through the growing season. Timely information on the occurrence of blue mold and the future movement of inoculum (fungus spores) across the North American continent is important to tobacco producers in managing this destructive and fast-moving plant disease epidemic.
