Catoctin Mountain Park is open all year.

The park is open all year from daylight until dark.

Visitor Center hours: Monday through Thursday, 10:00am to 4:30pm; Friday, 10:00am to 5:00pm; Saturday and Sunday, 8:30am to 5:00pm; closed for the following winter federal holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday, President's Day, Veterans Day (11/12/07), Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day.

The Catoctin Mountain Park Visitor Center will close on Wednesdays beginning December 3, 2008 to increase efficiency and reduce rising energy costs. The closures will continue until March 25, 2009 when the Visitor Center will return to a seven day operation. As Wednesdays are the lowest visitation day, impact to visitors will be negligible.

The Resource Education Staff will continue to explore alternative methods of providing information through the use of technology such as the park’s first closed-captioned video podcast, which is scheduled to debut in the coming weeks.  Podcasts, maps and news releases will be posted on the park website.  Information obtainable on the park website, wayside exhibits on interpretive trails and from bulletin boards at the Visitor Center will offer functional alternatives for visitors impacted by the Visitor Center closure.
