Habitat

Found in thin peatlands on glacial lakeplains, occasionally in open bogs, and often in transition zones between poor conifer swamp and sedge meadow or shrub thickets.

Labrador tea, leatherleaf, black spruce, jack pine, red maple, black chokeberry, blueberry, northern blue-flag, sensitive fern, bog laurel, wool-grass, blue-eyed-grass, strict sedge, Carex oligosperma, and Sphagnum mosses.

Management

Likely requires conservation of hydrology and local disturbance regimes.
