Administration
Division Overview
Mission Statement
The
Mission of the Arkansas State Plant Board Administration Division
is to maintain administrative services and controls within the agency,
thus enabling the employees to effectively serve the regulated industries
and the general public.
The
Administration Division is composed of six sections: The Director
and Assistant Director coordinate the work of all agency divisions
and sections, and direct the field work of the Agricultural Specialists.

Personnel
Section: This section is responsible
for the administration of the agency's personnel management
system. This includes the maintenance of leave records and cost
accounting of hours worked in all programs. The section is responsible
for recruiting, interviewing, and assisting the divisions in
filling vacancies. The section also edits the Plant Board News
and works with staff in disseminating information about the
Plant Board and its activities.

Accounting
Section: This section receives and
accounts for all fees collected; prepares payrolls and pays
all bills; orders supplies and services needed; maintains personnel
files; and keeps an inventory of all Plant Board property.

Office
Management Section: The Office Management
section supervises office clerical staff; inventories, requisitions,
and receives office supplies; and, serves as secretary to the
Plant Board Director and Assistant Director.

Printing
and Mailing Section: This section
prints and forwards all seed tags, labels and plant permits;
supplies the field staff with items needed; keeps mailing list
current; addresses, sorts by zip codes, bundles and mails the
Plant Board News each month; and, prepares, posts, and
forwards all mail.

Technical
Services Section: The Technical Services
section maintains the agency's computer system and operates
the chemical laboratory. The chemical laboratory analyzes feed,
fertilizer, pesticide, lime and soil amendment samples submitted
by the field specialist, by chemical, instrumental and other
analytical methods to determine whether or not these products
meet their respective guarantees.

Agricultural
Specialists Section: This section
is responsible for field activities such as sampling seed, feed,
fertilizer, pesticides, and lime. This section conducts various
field inspections to insure compliance. The section also conducts
field investigations of possible violations of laws and regulations.
