EcoCAR: The NeXt Challenge - The Department of Energy announced a new competition for North American colleges and universities with accredited engineering programs to compete for the opportunity to participate in EcoCAR: The NeXt Challenge — an international collegiate vehicle engineering competition. This challenge follows the recently finalized Challenge X: Crossover to Sustainable Mobility multi-year DOE-sponsored competition, where university teams re-engineered a SUV to minimize energy consumption, emissions, and greenhouse gases while maintaining or exceeding the vehicle's utility and performance.
The Dr. Bernard S. Baker Award for Fuel Cell Research - The purpose of this award is to encourage and recognize exceptional students in the field of fuel cell related technologies. Open to currently enrolled graduate or undergraduate students pursuing research in a fuel cell related field, the award includes a medal, $5,000 monetary award, and complimentary registration to the Fuel Cell Seminar & Exposition to present a poster presentation. The award will be announced and presented at the 2008 Fuel Cell Seminar to be held October 27-30 in Phoenix, Arizona.
