Our Partners

Partnerships play a great role in the success of Colorado State Parks.  For future accomlishments, State Parks has to continuously seek assistance from other agencies, volunteers, local constituency groups, the private sector, and individuals through partnerships.

During the coming years it will be even more important for State Parks to also serve as a statewide organizer for planning and partnership efforts by recreation professionals, constituents, and others.

Colorado State Parks have a wide variety of partners including state and federal agencies, associations and non-profits, private entities, county and city agencies, and many more.  Great Outdoor Colorado and the Colorado Lottery are two of the most important partnerships to Colorado State Parks.

Great Outdoor ColoradoGreat Outdoor Colorado (GOCO)

In an effort to protect and preserve the State of Colorado’s outdoor heritage, the GOCO Trust Fund was created.  According to Article XXVII of the Colorado Constitution, a portion of state lottery proceeds goes to the GOCO Fund, which is then used for projects that preserve, protect and enhance wildlife, parks, trails and open spaces.  Since 1994 GOCO has granted approximately $489 million for 2,100 projects throughout the state of Colorado.

Colorado LotteryColorado Lottery
The Colorado Lottery was created in 1982, when the General Assembly approved a bill implementing a state-supervised lottery. The Colorado Lottery is part of the Colorado Department of Revenue

• 10% to State Parks
• 40% to the Conservation Trust Fund
