Grasshopper Mouse Onychomys leucogaster Length: 15.1 cm (5.9 in.) Habitat/Range: The northern grasshopper mouse is found from northern Mexico to many of the southern Canadian provinces. Its range extends eastward from the Great Basin to the eastern border of the Great Plains. Its habitat includes grasslands. Eating Habits: It is mostly carnivorous, even killing other mammals. Adults live in male-female pairs. The males are very territorial. |

The grasshopper mouse is gray above and has white underparts. Its tail is less than one-third of its total length.
