The park is a haven for year-round recreation: fishing, boating, water skiing, hiking among the changing aspen, ice fishing and cross-county skiing. Snowmobilers and off-highway vehicle riders can access hundreds of miles of trails in Grand Mesa National Forest from Vega.
The park’s 109 campsites in four campgrounds surround the lake. The campsites range from pull-through sites with electric hookups to 10 walk-in tent sites in the Pioneer Campground. Vega’s five cabins are available year round and accommodate up to six people. Escape the crowds and reserve one mid-week. The Meadows Group Picnic Area is a great to place to hold weddings, family reunions, memorials or other group events. The park also has many special events and educational programs, see our calendar to the right for dates and times. Or, check the Colorado State Parks calendar for listings.
Vega is one of the few Colorado State Parks with OHV access to USFS lands directly from within the park. For more information to OHV trails on the USFS-Grand Mesa click here.
