License Plate Pledge Drive

Dear Colorado State Parks Advocate,

The Foundation for Colorado State Parks (FCSP), in partnership with Colorado State Parks, is considering pursuing a "specialized" automobile license plate that will promote our remarkable system of State Parks and Recreation Areas throughout the State.

Colorado's Department of Revenue (and state law) requires that a minimum of 3,000 automobile owners state their "indication of support" for such a plate prior to their pursuing approval for the production of the plate from the Colorado Legislature.  If sufficient interest exists, a legislative sponsor would obtained over the next several months with the legislation being carried during the 2007 session. Upon successful passage, the plate would be made available soon thereafter.

How Can I Help?
As a longtime user and advocate of our State Parks, I am asking you to consider filling out our online Indication of Interest Form. Doing so does not obligate you to the actual purchase of a plate.

The costs associated with the purchase of the plate would be as follows:

  • A one-time donation of $50 to FCSP, all of which to be placed into the Foundation's endowment. View FCSP's Brochure to learn more;
  • An additional fee of $25 to the Colorado Department of Revenue, for each year you purchase the specialized plate.

It is my hope that you will consider this request and help support your State Parks in this manner.

Please contact me any time to visit about this matter. Visit FCSP's "Contact Us" page for address, phone, and email information for FCSP.

Sincerely,

Jeff Shoemaker
Executive Director, FCSP
