HEALTH CONSULTATION

Residential Well III
MOTOR FUELS CORPORATION
LEVELLAND, HOCKLEY COUNTY, TEXAS

BACKGROUND AND STATEMENT OF ISSUES

The Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission (TNRCC) requested that the Texas Department of Health (TDH) review groundwater sampling data from a residential water well that may have been affected by groundwater contamination from the Motor Fuels Corporation site. The TNRCC indicated that the water is not used for drinking but is used for other domestic purposes (bathing/showering).

The TDH completed a Public Health Consultation for the Motor Fuels Corporation site in December of 1997. The December consultation evaluated the quality of a number of other water wells in the vicinity of the Motor Fuels Corporation site; however, the data for the residential well III was not available during the preparation of the December 1997 consultation.
