There
are few temperate zone places on this planet
that house a greater diversity of landscapes,
plants, and animals than do the confines of Arizona.

nongame species:
Eagle migration paths
You can
learn about the annual migration of bald eagles
from
Arizona
to
northern
states and back. Arizona Game and Fish Department
biologists have attached radio transmitters to
several eagles. The transmitters send information
about the eagles' movements to a satellite. View
the migration paths.
What are nongame wildlife?
To most citizens, nongame wildlife usually means
animals that are not hunted, trapped, or fished
in a traditional sense. So defined, nongame includes
most
natives and many exotic fish, all amphibians and reptiles, all birds except game
birds and the wild turkey, and all mammals except most game mammals, predators,
and furbearers. However, the legal definition of nongame wildlife is quite different.
In fact, many "nongame" species can lawfully be taken under the auspices of an
Arizona hunting, trapping, or fishing license.
Legal Definition based on
A.R.S. Title 17.101
Nongame animals: all wildlife except game mammals, game birds, furbearing animals,
predatory animals, and aquatic wildlife. |
