Plant Problem Diagnostics

Red maple in fall color

The University of Massachusetts Amherst recognizes the importance of reliable and prompt diagnosis of plant problems for the turf, floriculture, vegetable, nursery, urban forestry and landscape industries. We serve farmers, horticulturists, landscape contractors, turf managers, arborists, nurseries, and others in agriculture and the green industries.

To insure that we continue to provide the most reliable service, all of our plant diagnostics expertise has been integrated into one location in Holdsworth Hall on the UMass Amherst campus. The diagnostics team of the UMass Extension Plant Diagnostic Lab will be able to call upon each other's expertise to make fast and accurate diagnoses. Each diagnosis includes a written report with pest management strategies that are research based, economically sound, and environmentally appropriate for the situation.
