Colorado Cattlemen's Agricultural Land Trust

Protecting Open Space by Preserving Agriculture

Our Mission

The mission of the Colorado Cattlemen's Agricultural Land Trust is to help Colorado's ranchers and farmers protect their agricultural lands and encourage continuing agricultural production for the benefit of themselves, their families and all of Colorado's citizens.

Success Stories

Welcome to CCALT!

CCALT is very proud to partner with landowners in the protection of over 321,000 acres in over 34 counties across Colorado. This is an area larger than the entire Colorado State Park System!

None of this would have been possible without the commitment of private landowners and the financial support of our donors.

Click here to learn about a few of our success stories. These are just a few of the many easements that help protect the lands, livelihoods, and western heritage of Colorado.

Look around our site and check out our events and publications. Be sure you check back with us on a regular basis because our site is always changing!

National Western Stock Show Dinner

The annual National Western Stock Show invitation only cocktail dinner will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 from 6 - 9 p.m. This dinner is hosted by Sue Anschutz-Rodgers and is our way of thanking our landowners for their dedication to our organization.  Click here for a map to the event location.

Thank you for taking the time to visit the Colorado Cattlemen's Agricultural Land Trust online. We hope that this site will provide you with the information that you need as a landowner, a policy maker, journalist or simply someone who cares about Colorado's working farms and ranches and all of the benefits that they provide.

CCALT is a land trust of landowners for landowners. We are the only land trust in the state that exclusively serves farmers and ranchers.

We invite you to take a look around our site. We hope that this begins to answer your questions. Please feel free to call us, we would be happy to talk with you in person or meet over a cup of coffee.

Land Trust Alliance Accreditation

CCALT is pleased to announce it is applying for accreditation from the Land Trust Alliance.  The Commission invites public input and accepts signed, written comments on pending applications.  Comments should relate to how CCALT complies with national quality standards.  These standards address the ethical and technical operation of a land trust. Click here for more information on accreditation or to visit the accreditaiton website.
