Non-native plants can cause many environmental problems. The following questions are a guide to finding out if plants growing in your lake are native or non-native. Click on the picture or on the title underneath it to select the features of the plant:

Is the plant submerged, floating-leaved, or emergent?

Submerged:
The plant is growing entirely beneath the water surface, sometimes with emerging flowers.
Floating Leaved:
The plant has leaves on the water surface.
Emergent:
The plant is growing up out of the water.
